Worship you might like…

Maybe you have heard of Elevation Church in NC? Maybe you have heard of a young pastor named Steven Furtick? They are one of the fastest growing churches in the US. Their worship team put out a few worship albums. Elevation Worship is a great new church led worship team that is coming up with some great worship songs.

I like the themes and anthems that they are coming up with regarding the church and our mission.

They even desire to teach others their songs and sounds which I totally dig. Training up more people to lead and walk in worship. Also check out their WEBSITE devoted to their worship team, as well as others, that want to glean off their knowledge and passion for worshiping our Savior.

Worship you might like…

I figured I would share some of my thoughts and likes when it comes to worship music. I dig a wide variety of worship music. So I’m sure most people will find something new they might dig as I drop some of my favs. If not, you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself….okay, seriously…I hope you dig some of this stuff. There are a lot of great worship writers out there…

First up…GUNGOR…this is Michael Gungor’s band. The guy is a great guitar player and also wrote some very popular songs (some preformed by Israel Houghton) like “Friend of God” and “Say So”. I like his group because their songs are not the typical worship style….but they are still worship and their words bring me to a realization of God’s love and grace. “Beautiful Things” is a song that gets stuck in my head and I love it….such a great thing to get “stuck on”. Here are some videos but check out their albums…the electric stuff is very good as well….MR

Special Announcement about SouthView

I was so excited to read this announcement today at church. Our Elders, Board and Leadership are excited to see what God does with this….

We at SouthView Community Church are excited to announce a step of faith that we believe God is leading us to take.  It is in our heart to form a “strategic partnership” with Slow Burn Church (located in Franklin, TN).  Though our ministries will remain as two separate churches, our partnership will allow us to stand together as one functioning unit for the betterment of both individual entities.  Slow Burn, under the direction of Pastor Clint Thomas, will serve as our Friday night expression of the SouthView ministry.  In return SouthView Community Church will serve as a Sunday morning expression of Slow Burn.

The focus of our Sunday morning ministry at Southview will be one of community and relational development through love-based teachings that center around the practical steps of everyday Christian living.  We believe this will create an increasing environment for the lost to be reached, the wounded to be healed, and the family of Jesus Christ to be solidified through love.  We are excited to partner with them and as well as have them enjoy the benefits of spiritual mothers and fathers, life groups, support groups, community outreach, as well as joining in with our weekly worship service.

In return, Slow Burn Church will serve as the Friday night expression of Southview Community Church.  Their role of support to the Church of Southview will be one of specified training and ministry release.  As we serve their team to help complete the needs of their local body, they will in addition bring a strengthened sense of assignment recognition, mission focus, empowerment, and release.  With every successful army base, there is a much needed recreation center, cafeteria, training rooms, and deployment center. Slow Burn aims to be a place of specific training of gifts as well as a deployment to active duty for both the body of Southview C.C. as well as the Slow Burn Church.

As two individual churches, we choose to stand together as one in order to better advance the Kingdom of God and to destroy the works of darkness. Our mission is to form “Unity in our Diversity.” Though neither Pastor Clint nor myself have seen this step done in the same measures that we are taking, we are eager to allow God to do a new thing in and around our ministries by the power of the Holy Spirit for the sake of the cause of King Jesus.

This makes perfect sense to us and we can’t wait to see how it will look as we function as a Kingdom based church instead of an individual church based mentality. It’s all to further His work and equip people to live a life a power and love.
