Yeah…that’s about right.
If you know anything about us Eagles fans, you know this pretty much sums it up about Michael Vick…

1-Kids will do anything for candy.
2-They love doing memory verses and are quite good at it.
3-Worship time gets mixed results…kind of like the adults in the sanctuary…some love it, some are hanging out looking around and some wish they could have more candy.
4-They are a lot smarter than you think
5-Kids love to play…don’t make them sit and listen to you speak for 1hr and ½. Even their parents can’t last that long. Let them play and build relationships with other kids. That way they enjoy coming to church.
6-Bathroom trips become an event.
7-They love to color and draw.
8-Kids will do anything for candy!
9-You have a small window in which kids will truly listen to what you are saying….make it count.
10-They are so precious in God’s sight. Don’t forget about how important your Children’s Church is. Continue to invest in it and your leaders back there. They are the future generation and your future leaders.

Integrity Music sent me this new Praise and Worship from Ken Reynolds – 1W/1G. First impression was how great the recording sounds. Then I’m like…wow, the musicianship is on another level. Check it out…he’s not a house hold name like Israel Houghton or Fred Hammond but a very good album none the less.
My dad had this to say about it:
“Mark that CD 1W//1G is very very GOOD!! Great P&W with outstanding HORNS! (Ken Reynolds 1W/1G)…”
Check it out here.

2 things I would love to see happen with Michael Vick this year.
1-That he is truly sorry and sincere. I hope he really did find God and the change in his life is for the long term. If this one is correct then …
2-That he lights up the field and gives the Eagles the advantage they need. Then he can be a living example of how God gives second chances and people can truly partake in Grace and Mercy. Can you imagine the great story this could show the world.
oh yeah…and it would be nice to get the Eagle’s a SuperBowl win, but let’s start with #1.

Wow….never saw that coming. Honestly it was a huge shock but it makes sense. McNabb is a friend to Vick and he actually helped in getting him to Philly. There are things I would call the Eagles Organization, and “risky decision-makers” is not one of them. I’m very confident they made this decision with a lot of facts and meetings with Vick. I know Tony Dungy’s thoughts and recommendations played a role in it as well.
I am tired of hearing people complain about how sickening this decision makes them. The guy paid his price and wants to start over again. It just so happens that this guy’s profession is in Professional Sports. I’m sure if he was going back to his job as a plumber most people won’t give this news a second thought. Give him a second chance before you judge the man. Most of us are on our 2nd, 3rd or 110th chance already. How quickly we forget in our own lives. I’m willing to give him a chance and my prayer is that this second chance will be his opportunity to help others. Check out this quote from the LA TIMES:
Wayne Pacelle, president and chief executive of the Humane Society of the United States, said he doesn’t expect widespread protests and sees it as a good thing that Vick wound up in Philadelphia.
“It’s a city we’ve been looking at very closely because it has a major dogfighting problem,” Pacelle said in a phone interview. “So Vick’s landing there has the potential to turn around the issue. This gives us a big boost.”
Things happen for a reason. This team is a great team to help lead this man back to the right path. In return this man can help save others from a path to destruction.
As a fan, I’m excited about the possibilities to have this tremendous talent on an already talented offense.
As a human being, I’m hoping to see a changed man that understands what he did and is looking for ways to amend it.
As a man, I know that we are all one wrong decision from being there (or in any bad situation). Judging is something we need to do less of and forgiveness is something we really need more of. You’ll never know when you will need some.
