Our Worship Night last Friday

worship

This night was AMAZING…it almost went 3 hours long. And that felt like nothing. I loved every minute of it. The worship team, made up of people from our church, Slowburn Church and Mark Young from the Vineyard church in Franklin, rocked it! The band flowed and followed the Holy Spirit the whole night. It could not have been any better if it was scripted.

I’m convinced that true anointed worship can touch any heart, saved or unsaved. I saw all different kinds of people come into this service, and I believe, they walked away mightily changed. I watched people get prayed over for healings, marriage restoration and for God to ignite the fire within them. To see all different people from different churches doing this together was amazing. It shows you the power of God’s church when we can break down all the religious walls and barriers and just come together for one purpose.

I was proud of all the people involved in this night. Everyone rose up to the challenge, including our helpers watching the kids (thank God for them!). We even had Amy, an artist, paint during the night. She came up with a very cool interpretation of what she felt of the night, in a painting. A heart that is hungry for the Word and for God is a great example of what took place that night. I also felt God wanted those that came to know that He loved them very much. Sometimes we can’t hear that enough. Those that don’t know Christ are blown away by the fact that someone could love them despite how messed up their life is. Being involved in nights like this continue to show me that this is the case….God’s love is bigger than we could ever imagine.

What a night…God is blowing me away with the power He is showing during times of worship like these.

6 Exciting things God is doing at SouthView

-Our church is growing….We had 47 adults and 26 kids on Sunday. Not huge numbers for some churches but for a church 6 months in existence with no full time staff and in June, that’s amazing. Every week I’m amazed as God directs people to come to our church. I feel honored every time someone says they want to make our church their church home. We were missing a few “regulars” yesterday, so I can’t image what our count would have been? Our children’s church is GROWING quickly. We are praying for a Children’s Church Director…I know God will bring a great fit.

-Our prayer nights are amazing…Wow, is all I can say. I’m learning a whole new respect for prayer. I’m watching people get healed and set free right before my eyes. I’m seeing people grow in their spiritual walk by praying for “more” from God. I highly encourage anyone that needs a jolt in their prayer life to stop by on one of our prayer nights (every other Wednesday night @ 7pm). The next one is July 1st.

-Our worship is really blowing me away…Yesterday I broke down worship to explain it very simple to those that don’t know much about it. I also gave a challenge to those that think they are worshipers to step it up a notch. Let’s get past the latest “hits” and our “favorites” and worship God in a whole new deeper level. I’m super excited for our worship night this Friday (26th). I know it’s going to be amazing. God is pouring out His presence in our worship. I feel it every Sunday. It’s our calling card of sorts…no boring worship here. I can’t wait to see what God does with our worship in the future….diversity, creativity and power is what we long for!

-Our leaders are stepping up…Every where I turn I see them praying, ministering, fellowshipping, encouraging, serving, etc in our church. It blows me away how we can have such a great group of selfless leaders in one church. They are truly building this church with me. I can’t wait to see more and more people be raised up.

-Our relationships are growing…I’m meeting all sorts of great people from Spring Hill almost every Sunday. The true word of “community” is coming through. There is really something special about building relationships with people that only live a few minutes away. Our kids play together, go to school together and worship together. Our stay-at-home-moms, socialize and spend time at the community pool together. The guys can all get in a car and catch a movie together (transformers 2…..july 3rd!!). I love doing life with people.

-Our messages are practical and life changing…Yesterday I spoke on Worship. I heard quite a few people mention how most pastors don’t speak on topics like that. I can safely say that I’m not the stereo-typical pastor. I’m a strong believer in that people want to hear something that they can literally apply to their life that week. I’m also a very down to earth speaker. Some people relate, some don’t, but I know that we are reaching people with the message of Christ. I love to challenge people in their walk. Help them take a step deeper into their relationship with God. It all starts with presenting Christ in a way that they can understand. I will leave the life changing part up to God!
