Mat Kearney – Closer to Love
Mat was one of the first people I met when I was coming to Nashville. I met him through my good buddy Rick Wilson. I got to play a few times with Mat and he would tell me try not to slap a lot or get funky on the bass when I played with him. Funny dude! His music was simple but he managed to write some great melodies and hooks. It’s cool to see how big he is getting. This dude loves God and it’s nice to see somebody out there writing great songs that are connecting with people that aren’t necessarily Christian. His new album comes out tomorrow…check it out.
