FAITH THOUGHTS

After my message on Faith today, I figured I would list a few things I’m believing for in 2009.

-Packing out our church building. I believe we need to grow this church through reaching out to the community. I know there are many things that come into play with building/running a church, but I’m convinced (even more today) that we need to reach out to those not going to church.  I’m asking God for creative and impactual ways to do that.

-Healings. I’m wanting to see God move and allow His healing power to fill our church. Nothing shows God’s amazing power like people being healed of sickness and disease. I could use some of that power myself.

-Financial blessings. I’m believing God will provide all our needs according to His riches and glory.

-Great children’s and youth program. This is the future of our church. I’m excited to see how God wants to build this.

-Going full time into ministry. I know God has the right timing for this one. I’m trusting He will let me know when it is.

-Deeper relationships with my family. I want my family to be a tight knit group. I believe God will continue to teach me how to be a better husband, father and leader in my home.

-Truly trusting God with everything! Nothing else to say on this one…

-Eagles win the SuperBowl. Hey, while we are believing, I’m going to believe BIG!

What are you believing for? Do you have enough faith to believe and trust God for it?

GOT {extreme} FAITH?

This Sunday marks an important date for our church. Not only is it the first service of the new year, but it’s the first Sunday that we go full time, meeting every week. It’s amazing to see how many things came together to make this happen, including the leasing of our new building. The last half of 2008 has been amazing. God has truly guided our steps, there are no doubts in my mind.

This Sunday I’m speaking on Faith. My message “Got {extreme} Faith” is based out of the book of Hebrews. In chapter 11, God talks about a few of the early people in the Bible that demonstrated faith, or what I like to call “extreme” faith.  It’s amazing how we talk about faith, believe by faith and even have fancy saying on our wall about faith, but when the rubber meets the road, do we really have the “extreme” faith to get through the trials that come at us?

This message continues to challenge me and I hope it does the same to you. Look forward to seeing you this Sunday @ 10am.
