Some thoughts on the Election last night.
I want to keep my political views out of the way and just state some observations about Tuesday night’s election of Barack Obama
-No matter who wins, there are always going to be a bunch of upset people somewhere.
-What a turn out for Obama’s speech in Chicago.
-I wouldn’t want to be the next President no matter what you paid me. Talk about a tough job ahead.
-I don’t think the Republicans had much of a chance given the state of the economy right now. People truly wanted a “change”.
-My old home state, NJ, voted Democrat and my new state, TN, voted Republican. Trust me, you can tell the difference when you live in either one. It’s pretty evident.
-One good thought (and there weren’t many good ones on Fox News) was how young Obama’s children are, going into the White House. That’s a lot of pressure growing up for those 2 young girls. I hope they stay grounded and protected.
-It was weird to see Jesse Jackson crying when Obama won, after he made those off-air comments about Obama a few months ago.
-I thought McCain’s speech last night showed A LOT of class.
-I’m happy our country has grown from the racial issues of the past and was able to look beyond color in this election. This is an encouraging sign for our country.
-Is this the last we see of Sarah Palin? Or are we going to be looking at a “Palin in 2012” campaign?
-What is it like for Bush and his family after living in the White House for 8 years, and having to leave in Jan? I bet life will be a lot less exciting for them now. I also bet that they are ready for a much “less exciting life” right about now!
-Does Obama get to buy all new furniture for the White House?
-What does the rest of the world think about this election?
-How will our military and location of them through out the world, change in the next year?
I prayed last night, and this morning, for Obama and his new leadership that he is bringing to Washington. We need to pray for them and believe that God will guide them in the decisions they have to make. Many things I have read last night and this morning, continue to remind us that God is the ultimate authority. I truly don’t believe that one man (republican or democrat) can change a nation. But I do believe our PRAYERS can. I’m praying that “good” change will come to our great country and that Obama will be led by our God to protect and fix our great land.
